Thanks for your response!

I was think of just disconnecting the mirroring in SBS, removing the damaged
drive and then rebooting on the remaining undamaged drive.

All the mirroring is done in SBS.

What would happen if I booted, using the working of the mirror pair, with
the new blank drive in the system. It will be a different size than the
current boot drive. Will SBS just take the space it needs to make the new
volumne? If so, then is seems simple to replace the damaged drive, and let
SBS re-equalize the mirror on to the new drive. Then replace the other older
drive and let SBS re-equalize the mirror again.

Does this make sense?
