Hi Javier,

Using compression brings calls down to about 20k including overhead so
unless you have something really leaning on a 100Mb network you're not going
to have anything that affects it adversely, given that the IP phones are
communicating directly with the PBX. Echo cancellation also helps maximise
the available bandwidth for VoIP.

>From the Avaya documentation:
"For those customers who are willing to upgrade their data network, the
ultimate scenario for Voice would be for every device on the Local Area
Network to have its own dedicated port on a DiffServ capable layer 3 switch
such as the Avaya Cajun. Connections to the Wide Area Network should, once
again, be via devices supporting DiffServ such as the IP Office."

The IP Office range does not currently support SIP.

The central reason we opted to get involved with the IP Office range was
specifically its CTI integration and the fact that its squarely aimed at the
same core market as SBS - the SME market.

Anyway, I'll sign off now in case anyone feels I'm giving a sales speech!

Cheers,

David
