This is sort of a re-post, just trying to get some more details.
I replaced a w2k server, without email and intranet, to a sbs 2003 standard
with exchange and sharepoint. I have 25 clients running XP Pro/Sp2, all
configured pretty much the same. 5 of these clients are on a Frame Relay,
384K, 100% CIR.
Before the upgrade to SBS the WAN clients had no gripes or pains downloading
their POP email from our ISP, accessing the Internet and ISeries application
server.
Now they are whining and moaning daily, the president was their today,
called me and empasized the situation. All network adapters are configured
correctly and I have verified my IPConfig for server and workstations in a
previous post.
I have summoned the Network 'Specialists' to come and reconfigure the
routers according to a previous post, checking with ISP on upgrading the
Frame. From their analysis Bandwidth useage has been very high.
My Questions are:
>From your experience, what should the bandwidth be on a frame relay
servicing 4 to 5 workstations and a print server? We do not use Bandwidth
hungry applications, unless the SBS is such. As previously mentioned it is
currently set at 384k, 100% CIR. The ISP wants us to upgrade. I need to find
out if it is really necessary. The clients were very happy with the bandwidth
until we installed the SBS.
Thanks for any assistance.
