I have the exact same view as you regarding the analysis of the issue.
Based on my research, that's the reason you're getting the 5.6.1 - "Body
type not supported by Remote Host" error has to do with a certain Extended
SMTP verb - 8bitmime. What I suspect is happening is this: we advertise
that we "speak" 8bitmime to a server that speaks a different version of
8bitmime, and when the two incompatible 8bitmime versions are ''examined''
by the server, we get the "body type not supported" error.
The way to stop this error is to stop ''advertising'' 8bitmime - that way,
the two servers don't even try to ''converse'' in incompatible versions -
