hi,i am new too,but i managed something similar,excuse me if i am wrong :)
i have SBS2003 standard,so this might not apply to other premium editions.

i disabled port 80,for security reasons and also since server is not acting
as a web server.
external users now connect via HTTPS
e.g. https://IPaddress or domain name here/remote
this asks them to log in before being allowed access to internal website

remember: every time you change a setting in CEICW(the email & internet
connection wizard) you have to manually close the port again !
