Thanks for the suggestions. No, I knew the two interfaces (NIC & modem) were
sufficient, but I was incorrectly advised that I wouldn't be able to continue
on until a 2nd NIC was there. I think they may have misunderstood my
request. The USB NIC was removed immediately after I entertained myself into
proving that their suggestion would not work. I had one on hand and it
didn't cost anything extra to give it a shot.
I am going to give your "move" a try. I've gone thru the Internet Wizard
multiple times and set up the firewall, but for kicks I will give that a try.
At this point, I am game.
With SBS 4.5, I was very comfortable setting up the Proxy server. Bing,
bing, bing and it was done. I guess I just reached a point of frustration
today and once you hit that point, it's time to take a breather. This isn't
my first 2003 Server whatsoever, but it is my first of the 2003 SBS Basic
Edition though... I've read many instances about needing to install ISA, but
on the flip side there are those techs. posting their replies who say it is
not need at all.. 2003 SBS Basic should connect without it.
Everything and I mean everything was set up so seamlessly, but I was thrown
when it wouldn't dial on demand. I've gone thru the Microsoft KB and nothing
clicks with it. We'll try your idea tomorrow.
Thanks.
