Yes,
I can ping the address but not the name. Can I just add the server IP /
name to the LM host file without enabling WINS services on the server.
What I need to do is join two remote PC to the domain. When I try to join
the domain I get an error it can not find the domain. ( I am guessing it is
a DNS issue or WINS). Once the PC is joined to the domain I would use IP to
map drives, or share files and connect to other services. I really don't
want to enable WINS as another service unless I have to in order to join
remote PC to the domain.
