Another VPN Question

Hi-
All the postings by other members have been very informative in
trying to setup VPN, but still not quite getting it. Currently running
SBS2003 Standard and another server running Server 2K3 Standard. Want
to remote connection capability for clients. Biggest hurdle is I have a
static IP address (provided by comcast), runs to a Cisco UBR905
(configured and maintained by Comcast also) using NAT to internal
network, ports open and protocols (GRE) set for the Cable Modem/Router.
SBS box has 1 NIC and private IP address obviously.
I can connect via VPN on the inside of the network, but am unable to
PING the public IP and thus can't obtain a VPN connection from the
outside. Comcast wanted me to change the IP of my server to match the
public/static IP, but this will expose my server and creates numerous
headaches dealing with the .local domain. I understand it would
probably be easier to just get a second NIC setup a DMZ and work that
way. Comcast claims to have setup port forwarding, but was told the
Public IP will only exist when an actual device is on it, basically the
modem/router is transparent (ie it doesnot contain the public/static
IP). In addition the UBR905 doesn't like other routers hanging off of
it and must use a crossover cable thus rendering the WAN port as
useless. Comcast won't change the box out....so I am either looking for
a way to work in my current situation or am debating with getting a
dynamic IP, using something like dyndns, and my BEFSX41 (I know linksys
and VPN...ughhh).

Thanks
