Hi all.

I've been experiencing some VPN issues of late and I am hoping someone can
shed some light on it. I'll descibe the scenario first;

2 sites - A and B

Site A - My office
MS SBS 2003 Server, 2 x NIC - 2nd NIC connected to Draytek 2600 ADSL
modem/router/firewall. Connected using Demon Business 1000.
Internal NIC address: 10.3.0.2 , 2nd NIC address: 192.168.1.10. Address of
router is: 192.168.1.1
I should also mention we are running ISA 2000

Site B - Customers office
Windows 2000 Svr, 1 x NIC. There is a Sonicwall firewall connected to the
network. This is connected using Demon Business 2000.
Internal NIC address: 192.168.27.20, Address of firewall is 192.168.27.254

When we took over support at this site, they were running the IPSEC vpn on
the firewall itself. We had some issues connecting using this method from
behind our ISA firewall. I decided to forward port 1723 on the firewall to
the IP address of the server and use standard PPTP connections. If I connect
my laptop to the internet (a direct internet connection - not from behind
our server), this connection works fine. When my laptop is plugged into the
LAN and the internet connection is through the server, I can create the
connection, but after about 1.5 minutes - the connection drops. This 1.5
minute drop appears to be consistent.

I have tested connecting to site B from another network set up the same as
ours, and again - the connection drops after about 1.5 minutes.

Help is very much appreciated.

Best Regards

Robbie Niblock
