Dear SuperGumby,
Thanks for the steps. They make total sense expect one issue related to my
new server. It actually has an IDE controller which is connected to the DVD
ROM Drive and has one slave port available. But the server BIOS won't allow
me to select the IDE Slave drive as a bootable drive. If I could boot from it
there wouldn't be any issue at all. I can simply use the SATA drive as a
backup / extra storage drive and keep my SBS 2003 on the existing IDE drive.
The system I have is Dell PowerEdge 700. Dell documentation says that the
slave IDE port for tape backup and that is why booting from that drive is not
allowed.
I wonder if I put an additional IDE card into the system will the system
BIOS allow booting from a drive connected to that one. Any ideas?
Thanks,
Manoj
