After reviewing all of the postings for companyweb in SBS 2003 I have still
not come up with any definitive answers so here is yet another companyweb
problem.
We are running SBS 2003 Standard Edition. And XP Pro on clients, I can not
get Companyweb working on any computer. All updates have been installed for
server, workstations are pointing to the Internal IP address of server,
Website is not “Stopped”, I can get Welcome to Windows Small Business Server
2003 page on client if I enter http://servername in IE but still cannot
access companyweb from there, I can ping companyweb from client and server,
but when I try to log on to http://companyweb from either I get the following
message:
You are not authorized to view this page

credentials you supplied.
If you believe you should be able to view this directory or page, please try
to contact the Web site by using any e-mail address or phone number that may
be listed on the companyweb home page.
You can click Search to look for information on the Internet.
HTTP Error 403 - Forbidden
Internet Explorer
When I go through SMC, and click on Internal Web Site and try to Manage
Access, or Change Name, or Change home page layout, I get the following
Message:
Server Error in ‘/’ Application.
The resource cannot be found.
Description: HTTP 404. The Resource you are looking for (or one of its
dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is
temporarily unavailable. Please review the following URL and make sure that
it is spelled correctly.
Requested Url: /_layouts/1033/user.aspx
Or some other URL
Before I successfully added users and computers through the wizards, I was
able to access the http://companyweb/default.aspx from the server with no
problem, but the error I got from the client was different saying it could
not find companyweb, or was not available.
Short of removing and installing SharePoint Services companyweb web site,
(http://support.microsoft.com/?id=829114) is there anything else I can do
about this before I try the afore mentioned suggestion?
Thank you in advance
