Our old Win2k server is dying, so I recently purchased a new server and SBS
Premium, mainly fot SQL server 2000.
Our old server was set up as simple peer to peer, and PCs would connect
using either access project (.adp) databases or attached mdb databases,
along with some asp.net apps.
When I set up the new server, I accepted most of the default settings, and
now it is not part of the original workgroup, but looks like it is a new
one.
I can connect to SQL server on this machine from client PCs as long as they
are Windows XP. The other PCs in the office are Win2k, and I'm having fits
trying to connect them to SQL server on this thing. Only one of the Windows
2000 PCs (mine, which I've used mainly for development) can "see" the server
when you go into setting up an odbc connection. The others can only see the
database if you log into the new server as a user - something I'm trying to
avoid.
Any ideas on what could be causing the other Win2k clients to not access the
database?
