Situation:
SBS2003 with E2K3. I am trying to untie a bit of a mess at a remote
site. Clients can use OL2003 to send mail to any external domain, no
problem. Incoming mail also no issues.
BUT: when I log onto OWA (either from the local network from the
Internet), I get the following error when trying to *send* *external*
emails:
There was a SMTP communication problem with the recipient's email
server. Please contact your system administrator.
<sbs.local #5.5.0 smtp;551 <Admin@sbs.local>: Sender address
rejected: Domain not found>
This occurs with all users, including administrator. The only thing
that seems weird is the following:
The domain is cicape.local, which is what is used to authenticate to
OWA, yet the message is talking about sbs.local. The previous guy seems
to have really screwed around, because there are some sbs.local
addresses in AD as well.
Any ideas what to look for?
Thanks!
Eugene
