Top,

Let me answer the easy one first, Exchange 2003 in SBS 2003 fully supports
mobile devices exactly the same as both Exchange standard edition and
Enterprise Edition.
That being said OMA (Outlook Mobile access) is not turned on by default
however this is true of all versions of Exchange 2003.

Activesync on the other hand is turned on by default and should be available
from your IPAQ whithout having to upgrade the OS.
When you say they have lost all contacts do you mean on the mobile device
and or when they open their mailbox from a full mail client like Outlook.

Activesync default setting is to delete items that conflict on the mobile
device however in my experience it does'nt delete any items in the mailbox.

Is it possible that some of their contact etc info is still sitting in their
PST files needing to be imported into the mailbox.

If you could answer the following we might be able to figure it out.

1) Are the contacts in a PST file still.
2) When you say they have lost data, contacts is that on both the mobile
device and when they access the mailbox with a full client like Outlook.
3) If you were using POP3 I would almost be certain the contacts would be
held locally like in a PAB(Personal Address Book) or a PST can you verify
this

Hope this helps
Regards Mark (The Irish MCT)
