Ben,
Couple of possible options.. 1) stop all other instances of SQL/MSDE and
associated SQL Agents/dependant services and then start the upgrade or 2)
if you are at the hang of 'Setup is Preparing to Copy Files' again.. Stop
any other instances of SQL/MSDE that may be running (including their
associated agents and dependant services).. For example.. if the
SBSMonitoring instance is running stop the MSSQL$SBSMonitoring service and
the SQLAgent$SBSMonitoring service.
Once the other instances are stopped see if the setup continues..
