When you say "fails" do you get an error or does it just hang? If it hangs
then I would double check your firewall and GRE. Linksys low end routers
have a heck of a time with GRE even though they say it works and how to set
it up. Are you using the PIX as your firewall?
Can you VPN internally with no problem? If so then it's your firewall,
simple as that.
