Tom doesn't need ADPrep, he already has a 2003 AD.

Stop the SBS installation after it has completed the base OS portion.
Join it to the domain.
DCPromo it into a DC role.
Transfer the FSMO roles to it.
Make it a GC.
Continue setup.

If you are going to use the existing server as a TS it is best to DCPromo it
out of the DC role.

There is some argument to be had about whether MS should support this
process. Let's fly a little scenario.

I have an existing single DC running Windows 2000 Server, I want Exchange, I
also prefer to stay on current versions so an upgrade to Windows 2003 Server
sounds like a good idea and the cheapest way to get it is SBS. MS 'support'
upgrading this system to SBS.

Another scenario adds additional DC's. MS 'supported' as long as the
existing 'root of the forest', 2000 or 2003, is the upgrade target.

Would it matter that the existing 'root' was not the 'first' DC I installed?
Our first DC died, bad choice of hardware, and I had to make the 2nd DC I
had installed into root by forcefully seizing roles, it was a helluva time
but MS PSS helped me through it and assure me that I have a coherent AD.

All our scenario does is use SBS media to enable our new hardware to become
root of our existing AD, from there we upgrade our root to SBS.
