There are two tools that I know of to allow you to change the admin password
of a NT box. You can also run various hacking tools to get a copy of the sam
files and hack the hashes which then give you the password, etc, etc. It's
really not that hard to hack a NT box as long as you have access to the box
and time. I've hacked so called "strong" passwords in less than 24 hours in
the past, got to love 3 Ghz and HT.

I would suggest you have the business owner contact this former admin and
tell him he will fix what damage he did prior to leaving or he will find
himself in court. If nothing else a small claims case against him would be
easy to win and in my state that's $4k and I doubt he is that much of a ***
he would spend $4k for the statisfaction of getting back at his former boss.

Another option is to either search MS for a local partner to help you or
post more info here and maybe one of the guys here is local to you. Warning
not all MS partners are going to know how to hack this box but at least they
should have access and knowledge that you don't.
