You can move them via folder redirection policy to a subfolder of their home
directory. Keep profiles TINY. 20, 30MB at most. Don't store s__ on the
desktop. Etc.

Yes, absolutely.

It isn't nonstandard at all. And you *must* disable offline file caching on
the roaming profile share on the server or you'll run into problems galore.

I don't like offline files, ever - have been way too many problems with lost
data for me to ever try it again. For laptop users who also use desktops, I
make their profile local after downloading it. And I use SecondCopy 2000
(www.centered.com) to sync files for all laptop users. Works fine...
