What kind of hardware solutions are folks using for SBS2ks backup these
days? The 40/80 DLT drive in Dell our SBS2k3 server just died (two months
after our warranty expired!) and I'm looking for ideas.
I can pickup a used replacement on eBay for about $350-$400. I'm thinking I
should also replace the tapes, which I would guess to add another $100+. One
other thought I had was to pickup two firewire or USB hard drives, and swap
them out each night. We definately want to be able to take a backup offsite
each night. We're a small non-profit, so cost is always an issue, though we
obviously don't want to skimp on something as important as data backup.
BTW, I'm backing up both the SBS2k3 server plus a second W2k3 server running
SharePoint/SQL.
Thanks for any ideas,
