Steps Taken to resolve problem.
I lost all HTTP Virtual Server Activity and couldnt access
RWW,OWA,SUS,Monitoring & Exchange Public Folders.
The Reason this happened is because, in my infinite wisdom I created a new
virtual server in Sharepoint called Default Website which had the same IP
address as my IIS Default Website which hosts the all the remote sites like
OWA.
I learnt a lot of useful patches and fixes along the way which may help
people.
The main reason I started playing around with Sharepoint was because I kept
getting this error when trying to add a web part "cannot deserialize the Web
Part error message .............."
This problem was resolved with the patch from the url below
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=62FA5AAD-DC25-491C-8944-3B2920C9FC64&displaylang=en
FIX: IIS 6.0 compression corruption causes access violations
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;831464
After I had carried out the above steps, I removed the ISA
Listener,Destination Sets & Web Publishing Rules and then re-ran CEICW and
voila it was fixed.
Important lesson learned. If its not broke dont fix it!
