Advice on a mail backup service?

I'm going to move away from the Pop3Connector and go full SMTP, but want
redundancy in the system.
A part of DNS Exits provides: "...mail backup service acts as your second
priority mail server." for only $20/year.

Is this a good way to approach this? It was recommended to me by another
SBS2003 user for whom it works great. Are there alternatives that might
be better?
