I have just setup an SBS 2003 Standard server with two NICs, external NIC
connected to an ADSL Modem/Router and applied all the latest patches.
The next step is to connect some Windows 2000 workstations to the server.
I've created users and workstation entries on the server then from a
workstation I've opened IE and entered http://EVASRV01/ConnectComputer but
get the error "The Page Cannot be Connected". Same happens trying to connect
to any of the intranet sites. I can ping the servername and companyweb OK.
I tried renaming the workstation to something not defined on the server then
manually joined the domain from the workstation and tried again but had the
same problem.
I can open Companyweb and Exchange from the server so it looks like IIS is
working OK. A search of this newsgroup showed a lot of people having the
same problem but most were caused by wrong DNS settings. My workstation is
getting it's IP information from DHCP on the server and has the correct DNS.
I've tried setting a fixed DNS to the server on the workstation but this
didn't work either.
Following are the TCP/IP settings for both the workstation and the server.
