No sorry - I don't accept that unless its cosmetic.

I will... READ as you say. To me it sounds like documentation REDONE after
designing the system!!!
(Not that we have never seen that with MS !!!)

Sorry, keep at it BUT - this does NOT happen everytime!!

It seems to be random!!

Just tried this in front of an MCSE who tells me similar!!!

3 Shutdown's - NO remirroring (each time I copied some random data from CD
on to server's hdd - to give it some activity)

NO resynching !!

4th time - hey presto RESYNCYING on boot up.....

???

Aim to do some more test cycles when resync is complete.
I can afford to play at this stage !!

(You are right - Hardware raid is preferred - but this is a 5 user system.
Took me long enough to convince them to put a server in).

Some questions come to mind :-
(1) when Resyncing is in progress I expect one of the Hard Disks, presumably
disks 0 is uptodate disk 1 is not
until resync is complete. That means I have a DESTROYED mirror right ?
(which is unuseable??)
(2) The amount of time taken is roughly the same as when the mirror is made
of a BLANK disk which means data is copied from disk 0 to 1 - again!!?? **
How very stupid **
(3) why bother - if you can't rely on it !!

PS: I'm not a MCSE or a technical expert
and none of these comments are directed at you personally...
Just very angry at this stage.
