Hi Norm,
Forklifting the OS onto different hardware and then doing a repair can
orphan some hardware. You might want to clean up any hidden hardware that
can cause some strange errors down the road.
Enable 'show hidden devices' in devman, and get rid of any ghosted
hardware (stuff you know doesn't exist in the new box)
1. Click Start, click Run, type cmd.exe, and then press ENTER.
2. Type set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1, and then press ENTER.
3. Type Start DEVMGMT.MSC, and then press ENTER.
4. Click View, and then click Show Hidden Devices.
Do be careful while deleting any ghosted or duped items, though.
