Hello, all!
I've got a problem that was not able to find an answer for, searching
through the discussion.
I've got a client with a server running SBS3K on it with 5 clients running
WinXP Pro.
Now here is a problem - everything was running good and everybody had access
to all the files that I've got permission set to. Now, I had those
permissions set to a folders containing those files and all was good.
Yesterday, they asked me to hook up 2 new machines instead 2 old ones and
have old 2 in the other room hooked up to a server but with more restricted
permissions. By the way, I had those new ones named and accounts setup the
same way they use to be on the old ones. I have not hooked 2 old ones to a
network yet. Right after connecting 2 new ones and configuring them to work
and stuff, all of a sudden, server would not allow me to open sertain files
in sertain folders that use to work without any problems. On the top of
that, it would not allow 2 of other 3 PCs to access thosefolders/files.
I've checked all the permissions on the forlders and they are all shared.
Now, if I go inside the shared folder and look at sharing/security seting of
that file, I would find that it's not shared. And every file/subfolder like
that, despite the "This folder, subfolders and files" setings set to full
control/access. I can seam to set those permissions all at the same time, I
have to go through all the fodlers and subfolders and files and set them all
individually. Its a lot of files/subfolders/folders to go throough... :-(
Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks a lot! (Those guys are
accounting firm, so they will need to be up to speed fast. And it's not like
I've messed up anything - I have not touched any of those settings... :-( )
