File and printer sharing was installed on the XP workstation. Uninstalling
and re-installing did not change the symptoms. Very frustrating that the
ConnectComputer wizard can proceed so successfully yet leave such a generic
error message as "an error ocurred when configuring networking settings."
Thanks for trying Merv. I will continue to dig. Many have suggested a wipe
and re-install but I really prefer to solve and learn when possible.
