You were correct. I figured this out myself after 24 hours of randomly
clicking things and reading error logs, but your suggestion cut straight to
the heart of the matter. It seems the conflict as actually with my adding
the SSL port to the new site (as 443), once that was deleted, I was able to
get all the sites running again.
I am still unable to get a new site working that actually will load a page
in IE, under http://newsitename or even http://newsitename.domain.local. I
followed the instructions given on smallbizserver.net, once stopping after
the CNAME settings, and once continuing on to add the Sharepoint stuff.
Neither example will load a file from the marked folder under Inetpub.
Perhaps posting my config, as you requested, will help answer this question:
Description - Identifier - State - Host header value - IP address - Port
Default Web Site - 1 - Running - <blank> - *All Unassigned* - 80
MS SP Admin - 2 - Running - <blank> - *All Unassigned* - 9584
SP Central Admin - 3 - Running - <blank> - *All Unassigned* - 8081
companyweb - 4 - Running - companyweb - 192.168.0.102 - 80
TestSite1 - 417834865 - Running - TestSite1 - *All Unassigned* - 80
TestSite2 - 73892474 - Running - TestSite2 - *All Unassigned* - 80
The end goal is to get a blank site (no Sharepoint) that can be accessed
over SSL by any user logged in through RWW. I don't want it publically
available - it's a PHP intranet/extranet application, not a website. To be
honest, it doesn't need to be it's own site - it can be under companyweb, so
long as I can get a working webroot, and it can run PHP. I just haven't
figured out how to accomplish this.
Thanks for your help, Mark. I hope I've provided you with the config info
you need.
