I have been reviewing kb articles, news group postings, and documentation
for a while now and am still a bit confused on the details of routing 2
segments on a LAN. I have a Windows SBS 2003 server with 2 NICS: one nic
with a 192.168.1.x segment and the other is 192.168.2x segment. The address
configuration is as follows:
Server NIC1:
IP: 192.168.1.4
Gateway: 192.168.1.1 ( our Internet firewall )
Server NIC2:
IP: 192.168.2.4
Gateway: <blank>
Aside from enabling Routing and Remote Access ( which I had previously done
to allow VPN ) and ensuring that the server is enabled as a "router for
local area network", is there anything else I need to do to allow users on
the 192.168.2.x segement to see devices on the 192.168.1.x segment ( ie.,
add any static routes, etc )?
Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
tia,
Bill
