Hi Jeff,

That is now EXACTLY what I was experiencing, including the trying everything
in the KB article and getting nowhere.

In absolute sheer desperation more than anything else here's what I did and
this worked for me - no guarantees it'll do so for you obviously but gotta
be worth a try!

1] Archived off everything from the other folders [it seems to just be the
Inbox itself that won't synch - sub folders seemed OK] to a PST file - set
it to something like 3 months for all folders in order to reduce the size of
the OST file [in case that was my issue]

2] Assigned full read/write/edit permissions to my Inbox for one other
specific user

3] From that other user's PC and copy of Outlook, accessed my Inbox [and did
see ALL the correct emails] and did the following:

a] created a sub-folder called something like 'temp test folder' or
something else memorable
b] manually copied everything from my Inbox to this folder

4] Went back to my PC and copy of Outlook, checked that I could see all the
emails now in the sub-folder and tried synching - it worked!

5] In order to check things fully, I manually started copying the emails
back from the temp folder to my Inbox, starting with a month at a time, then
week at a time and so on, trying to synch between each batch copy [so I
could determine which 'batch' any problem emails were in] - all copied back
OK. Still synching OK now.

6] Noticed that the Rules wouldn't start on my Inbox now so performed the
operation to clear the Rules - all OK now.

In the absence of anything else concrete I am assuming that 'something' in
the Rules became corrupted and it may have been this which caused the issue
with synching but this is a pretty flimsy guess overall really. There
appears to be an almost total lack of concrete information relating to
errors in synching with cached exchange mode for OL2K3 as opposed to OL2K
but maybe the fixes in that KB article work for most and I/we're just
unlucky!

Anyway, if you do decide to give any of this a try, post back with your own
findings.

As an alternative, I did for a while ditch cached exchange mode and run
using a standard OST file and synching to that manually. Couldn't use the
Junk Mail Filter in that set-up so used Spambayes for anti-spam which seemed
fine although was slower and took more management than the JMF.

Hope any of this helps you.

Regards,

David
