Thanks for the solid come back. We are now getting to the nub of the matter.
I have not bee wholly honest in my reporting:-))))
When I try to the connect computer as the install admin (i.e. the dude i'd
consider the master local administrator of the box) i get error.htm which
talks about either having security tooo high on IE or not being an admin.
I'm an admin - these machines are all in my home office - and I set the
security settings on IE as low as they would go. I am running XP SP2 on the
box.
Time for some more research. Like what is causing the error message. I've
seen a lot of things not work on the server because The settings for various
folders allowed scripts only and not scripts and exe's. (This could be a
side effect of putting a customers site temporarily in place of the
http://servername site.
