Also try RegMon and FileMon from www.sysinternals.com. They can
help you locate the specifics of the ill-behaved program's activities so
that you can alter the permissions on the appropriate registry keys. If you
need to take a quick guess, the first place to look is
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\< vendor name >\< application name> for registry
permissions and C:\Program Files\< vendor name>\ < application name> for
file permissions. But be persistent. As the adage goes, too many local
administrators spoil the broth.
