Register it as you would do with another domain-> No.

You have to ask whomever is hosting your DNS to create 1 (or more) A or
CNAME records for your domain. I'm rewriting an old post to explain this:

<Paste>

There are different types of records on a DNS server: A, CNAME, MX... and so
on.

An "A" record ties your hostname with an IP address. For example, an A
record ("www") pointing to X.X.X.X will make that each time someone types
down www.yourdomain.com will get directed to X.X.X.X (which is the IP
address where your webhosting reside).

A "CNAME" record will tie your hostname with another hostname. For example,
a CNAME ("sbs2k3") pointing to yourname.dyndns.org will make that each time
someone type down sbs2k3.yourdomain.com will be pointed to
yourname.dyndns.org.

</Paste>

As you can see you can have two entirely different servers (IPs or
Hostnames) answering to www.yourdomain.com or sbs2k3.yourdomain.com... is
just a matter of setting this properly. James and I have given more specific
instructions on what to do in our respective previous post. If you still
have questions post back.
