can I assign multiple IP's to the external and/or internal interfaces of the
SBS 2003 premium box?
reason being I want the box to host several sites (company web, owa,
sharepoint, etc) some internal some external.
As well I'd like it to host the VPN connections, etc. (I have dual t1
connections coming in for redundancy) and hardware firewall.
Also, even though I have hardware firewall, do I gain any advantage (worth
the headache) by adding the full ISA to it?
I'd like the server to host a few SQL instances as well (which is possible
according to an earlier post I found). I'm wondering if I give it multiple
IP's then I can make some easy URL's or DNS names for the folks to remember,
otherwise they have to remember the main server dns name and a bunch of
/xxxxxx sites right?
Also, anyone have any luck with a multiport modem solution fox fax and dial
in? We have a pbx and a bunch of analog ports to use up, but the server
does not have a ton of room for internal modems. Someone had suggested a
serial card (is that right?) to a bunch of external modems so lightning
would not fry my server via the modem. I'd think the pbx would fry first
right? I suppose I could put the lines thru the surge supressors since most
of them have a place for telephone lines. Any thoughts.
Got the licenses today, looks like this weekend or next for the upgrade.
