Opinion...

I see you haven't had any problems with the earlier models, but I've never
been a fan of inkjets. The supplies are costly and they always seem to be
problematic where I've tried to use them. Most businesses seem to do better
with laser printers. You can get a B&W Brother 1440 that will spit out the
paper at about 10 PPM and will accept most of the standard forms. These run
less than $200. Cost/page is about 2-3 cents including paper and toner.
When it starts to act up (or the laser drum needs replaced - about 15000
pages), pitch it and get another one. I haven't seen very many small
businesses that need color on a large basis that would pay for the a color
laser or fancy color inkjet. Your client may be different.

Color lasers are fine but, again, the costs can be significant. However,
one of my clients has had a network ready, Xerox Phaser 840 color laser
printer for the past 4 years. No problems. Runs about 2500 pages/month
through it. Only thing I don't like about it is the wax sticks it uses
instead of true toner cartridges. The issue here is that its difficult to
write on the printed copy because of the wax. Other than than that, it's
been fine. They got it free through http://www.freecolorprinters.com/ .
They have to run a minimum number of copies through it per month and buy the
supplies online at the freecolorprinters.com web site (black color wax is
free). As long as they meet the minimum requirements, the printers is free
and is theirs after 3 years without further costs. A 3 year,
send-a-tech-to-your-site warranty was included.
