Evening all . . .

This is more of a general question to find out what sorts of experiences
other people are having / have had with a SBS2003 / W2K3 environment, and
configuring apps via RD.

My employer has the following setup (which I administer)

1 x SBS box (35 users, PDC, Exchange 2003)
1 x W2K3 box (application/file server, TS Server)
1 x Linux box (running Samba, used for external secure FTP transfers from
clients)

The whole lot connects to the net through a Watchguard brand firewall box
and a 2meg ADSL connection.

NOW - since I gradually introduced the technology over the last 8 months
(replacing an old W2K box running Domino as the messaging solution), I've
been asked to move to the next step in my "grand plan" (*evil chuckle* - not
really!) - the idea of "remote offices" for our sales staff.

Since they already have laptops (that don't often move off their desks - go
figure!), they are about to be set up with wireless internet access hardware
(for any Aussies reading this - GPRS cards), MobileVPN software (again, from
Watchguard and because I prefer the extra security) and a connection to the
application server to run their workflow software and email.

Since the GPRS cards are data and not time dependant, they should be able to
log on and stay on - their Outlook mailboxes will be available via the TS
session (in non-cached mode, since I don't want their mailbox contents
clogging up the TS box!) and they'll be able to do real-time quotes and
figures for clients running everything remotely off the TS box (and yes, it
should be specced ok to handle the queries - dual Xeon 2.8 with 2gig of
PC3200 ram and 36gig of 10K scsi disk space).

Anyone else had problems/issues/solutions regarding this sort of "remote
office" setup they'd like to share? Any comments/suggestions are most
welcome.

Regards,

Stuart
