I currently have a client who is running SBS 2003 with SQL installed.
I did not do the initial install of SBS, it was done by another person
who has recently abandoned the project and I was called it to
troubleshoot. Upon my investigation I found that the Sql service was
using about 1.2 gig of memory in task mananger. I rebooted and the SQL
services went down, but then jumped back up to about 900 meg.
The server config is a Dell Poweredge PIII 933 with 2 gig memeory and
3 36 gig drives. The clent is running an application called Everest
which uses the SQL database and the cleint is complaining that when
she pulls up a report it takes a long time. I have put in a call the
Everest to see if it may be something on their side, I have not heard
back yet. I have searched this group and saw the Knowledgebase
articles 316739 and 321169. I just want to make sure to check
everything on my end, am I still missing something? Should I be
thinking of adding an additional CPU? I would like to determine what
the problem is before I start throwing hardware at it.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
