You're equating using POP3 instead of SMTP with putting a gun to someone's
head? I think the comparison might be a bit extreme.
While there are certainly some questions that ought not to be answered (or
even asked), a blanket response to every question that does not follow MVP
orthodoxy is simply silly. This particular question concerns nothing that is
even remotely dangerous or risky. It's a simple question about an
alternative to MS's POP3 connector. If you want to, go ahead and add a plug
for SMTP.
You guys do a great and wonderful and generous job for which I and others
are greatful, but sometimes there's a subtle whiff of condescension that
emanates from the entrance to the cave.
