Terry,

Can you try the following.. ..
from a command prompt

set devmgr_ show_nonpresent_devices=1
start devmgmt.msc

Once in Device Manager.. on the View menu select to show hidden devices..
then in the under the network cards do you see any extra ones showing up?

Also, do you have any other software installed that may affect networking
such as firewall/AV software, mamangement software etc.?
