It really depends on what you are trying to do. The reason that SBS does not contain the Terminal Services in Application mode is due to security considerations. It is not considered safe practice to use this on
your domain controller which the SBS must be. To host an application, you would need the second terminal server. We do have another alternative though. If your systems are running fully patched versions of XP
or 2000 (professional), then you can use Remote Web Workplace. This allows users to go to your domain or IP in a web browser (https://www.domain.com/remote) and login using their domain credentials over an
SSL connection. This will allow them to use RDP to remotely control their workstation while keeping your network safe and not hosting all of your users on your domain controller. If you have a router, please note
that you will need to forward ports 443 and 4125 to your SBS box in order to use RWW. Aside from that, all configuration is handled through the CEICW and domain policy which configures your workstations for you
when they are joined to the domain.

To access email remotely, there are a number of possible solutions of which I will list a few:

Outlook Web Access (https://www.domain.com/exchange)
RPC of HTTPS (with Outlook 2003 clients)
VPN

If your database is on a shared drive on the server, a VPN connection will also give them access to the database though they will have to manually map a drive. Depending on your connection at the office and
theirs on their end, speeds will vary but the same would be true of RDP in which you are sending even greater amounts of data since not only are you sending the data, you are sending an entire screen shot every
few seconds.

I hope this information helps.
