I hope this will be helpful.

I am currently in the middle of a failed upgrade of 2000 - 2003 SBS Premium.

The box is "Platinum" in color. There is no shrink wrap. Both ends of the box have a round, clear plastic seal about three inches indiameter, The box is scuffed but not damaged. Contents as listed by Jim Behning.

I received a copy that is old and will not do an upgrade. The part number is X09-73660. The number 3 CD needs to be replaced BEFORE beginning an upgrade. MS will replace all CDs if you call them.

I have done numerous SBS2003 Windows 2003 installs. All have gone flawlessly except this one. Be sure to check the CDs and call for a replacement if necessary.

The part number of the bad CD is X09-75177. I was told by support that the XO part prefix identifies the bad CDs.

See this web site for more info. http://www.microsoft.com/windowsserver2003/sbs/techinfo/sharepointinstall.mspx

The fix didn't work in my case. I am still waiting for the CDs but found that I could get most things working by completely removing IIS, renaming InetPub and reinstalling everything from scratch.

I found that it is a good idea to remove Exchange third-party extensions before doing the upgrade. You might also want to remove any Excahnge hot-fixes and re-install SP3 before performing the excahnge upgrade.
