not sure why you think the second nic is unnessary?
SBS is pretty picky about the way it wants to be configured, what it is
expecting to see, etc
The internal nic and all workstations should be connected to a switch
The second nic with an IP on a different subnet should be connected to the
firewall/router. Its DNS should point to the IP of the first (internal
NIC)
Then run the CEICW wizard from the Server management console
Then run the Remote Access Wizard
That should take care of it
