When you had Veritas installed, do you recall if you installed the Veritas
supplied device driver? If so, then that's why Windows cannot see your tape
drive. You will need to go back and install the default Windows device
driver first, and then the built in SBS backup utility will work.

I have a PE 500SC and the same thing happened to me!
