These would be new machine aquisitions, therefor not currently running an
OS.
the ts client software requires an OS license from Microsoft correct?
(meaning an xp client,2k client,win9x, etc.) that means more $. A linux OS
on the thin client is free as is rdesktop, which means less $.

Does Microsoft make a free client for linux? I doubt it. Do they make a
free client for the Wyse Winterms? I think it is embedded, if you use the CE
version or ambedded xp version (both of which are much more expensive) The
goal is to cut costs and ease management of the users.

I have about 25 to consider, The lower end thin clients cost around 200-250
per plus the TS cal. This option is fairly secure and management is easy.
The lower end pc will cost me 400-700 depending on option, and I'd have to
load software 25 times. This is mainly for a classroom environment and I
can make the classroom mobile with usb wireless adapters even.

I'm looking for ideas. thanks
