Hi Therese
Are you keeping the Novell server on the network? The XP Windows Client
works great in that scenario and will run your Novell Login Scripts. I would
use the Windows client instead of the Novell client for XP. I would if at
all possible upgrade the 9x boxes to XP Pro. It is well worth the $200 (less
with open license) for the added functionality and lack of heartaches on
troubleshooting 98.
Study the Getting started guide on CD1 on your setup and follow the Todo
list letting the Wizards do the work for you. Be sure and use the 2 NIC
setup. When you add the Users and Computers in the to do list you will be
prepared to connect the computers later. I am assuming since your Novell
server was your main server that you were not using AD on your NT boxes. If
you were then you need to look at migrating instead. If the XP boxes were
NOT in a domain you are ready to connect to the SBS. from your Browser run
http://servername/connectcomputer and you will get a logon screen. logon as
domain Administrator and you will get a screen with a list of computer names
to select from. Choose the correct name and you will be given a list of all
your user names in your AD. Select all those who you wish to use that
computer and add them. You will be given an opportunity at that time to copy
the profile of users from the local computer at this time. Complete the
Wizard and the computer will reboot twice. On the second reboot logon as
Domain Administrator and Outlook 2003 will be installed on the WS. If you
get an error on copying the profiles you can manually copy them later.
Please address migrating your Exchange 5.5 data in a separate thread
