I do not recall explicitly stopping the MSSQL$SHAREPOINT service prior to
the first pass. After we received the error message, we checked the service
and it was stopped. As per my original posting, we have since tried to run
the install with all possible combinations of MSSQL services started and
stopped and it seems to make no difference as the error remains consistent.
