Andrew - you won't see free memory on an SBS because Exchange Server
(store.exe) grabs it all, then releases it as needed by other apps. I'd
look at your memory usage in general (in task manager, the "peak" figure is
maximum ram used at one time since last reboot - that's a good place to
start). You'll always have a little paging, but if you have a lot, or if
your peak is way over 1g, you might consider increasing it. But keep in
mind that if you do, you still won't have any free ram because store.exe
will still use it up. Mine is using about 800mb of an available 1.25g right
now with no adverse effects on server performance.
Dan - please troubleshoot the specific error you're seeing. High CPU usage
seems unlikely to be caused by low memory, and 1g isn't that low, especially
since the server previously worked fine with its current hardware
configuration.
