Hi,
so far i got a baseline now. I installed on a IDE
harddisk physically smaller than 32GB (not a clipping
mode but real!), actually it is a 12 GB IDE Harddisk.
So i assume something strange is going on between BIOS,
harddisk size and Windows 2003 when jumping over the 32GB
border with IDE drives on that 440bx.
My old SBS 4.5 is running since years on hardware ... you
don't want to know it, really ;-). It finally came into
its years and i decided to hit reality that i need to
update sometime.
Actually i will complete the installation and hope that i
do not face the same problems after a couple of weeks
like you did, having a "Gremlins free zone".
I already transferred the harddisk image to another disk
without fail, so i'll try to move up the harddisk size
ladder as far as i could reach - presumeably 32GB (if i
still find such a small size on the market).
Bye
Robert
