Chris,

Piggy-backing on what Les Connor has already posted on your question, these links provide more information on the Windows 2003
Volume Shadow Copy functionality:

304606 Description of the Shadow Copies Feature in Windows Server 2003
http://support.microsoft.com/?id=304606

818703 White Paper: Technical Overview of Windows Server 2003 File Services

You can also reduce the NFTS permissions on the network shared folders on the server to remove the delete permission from the users'
rights on the share to prevent anyone who is not allowed to delete files in the folder from doing so.

I have xp pro clients connecting to a 2003 SBS server.
When a clinet deletes a file from a company share on the
server, the file doesn't go to the recycleing bin. It is
permenently deleted. When the client deletes their files,
it goes to the recycle bin as it should. Anyway to stop
permenant deleting?
