Hi Linda, you should do as Lanwench suggested below, however, if you
absolutely cannot move something to the server for a line of business
application (for example). Then the best practice would be to use NTBackup
locally on the client and push the backup file to the server. This is
because if you backup the client from the server, there is no way to invoke
VSS, and you will skip open files. Pushing the backup to the server from
the client will enable you to use VSS on the XP client and be able to backup
open files.
